Javier Gomez, DVM
Javier Gomez was born and raised in El Paso. With an interest in science, biology in particular, he entered the veterinary field in 2008. He began in a small animal clinic as a volunteer, then later as a technician. It was during this time that he found an interest in veterinary medicine and developed a deep obligation and responsibility to patients under his care. He would finally graduate from Iowa State University in 2020 and entered the field as a veterinarian that same year. As a veterinarian, he showed a special interest in emergency, critical care, and internal medicine. He also developed a very individual patient-guided style of medicine.
In his first year as a veterinarian, he would meet his strongest advocate and team member, his beautiful wife, Karina Trillo. Communication and passion in both were nurtured through the high demands of their work. This would lead to strong teamwork and mutual respect that would inspire them to open the clinic of their dreams. In his own words “Looking back at all my greatest victories, I realized you [Karina] played a major role in them. They were OUR victories.”

Nathiel Witter, DVM
Raised in El Paso, Texas since his early childhood; Dr. Nathiel has always loved his hometown, especially with the city’s familial culture and pride of being deeply rooted in Mexican heritage. It is at the University of Texas at El Paso where he received his B.S. in Biology and went on to study at the University of Arizona, College of Veterinary Medicine, where he received his degree as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
Blessed with being born into a military family, he has been raised with strong determination and drive; sacrifice is something he has profoundly appreciated by the examples of his father and mother. It is through the grace gift of their lives, that he was able to pursue his education and passion for medicine.
Dr. Nathiel’s values are to forever place God above everything, to have honor by your word, and to exceed what you are called to do. His passions are leading others to the love of faith, and he will always be willing to advocate in prayer for you, your family, and your pets. Some of Dr. Nathiel’s favorite verses are: Jeremiah 29:11-13 AMP, Psalms 139:1-17 AMP, and John 1:1-5 AMP.
Lastly, his goals are to advance the El Paso community through exceptional client education, focusing on small animal preventative medicine, internal medicine, and dentistry. Dr. Nathiel strongly believes that a quality conversation can have a tremendous impact on patient care. He works diligently to build trust and ensure that clients believe he places their best interests at heart. Most of all, he will advocate for his patients without wavering.
Dr. Nathiel has written a prayer that he desires to share with every patient and client who is welcomed into Golden Valley Animal Care:
“Lord, may your love and peace that surpass all understanding overwhelm our families and community. May the blessings of healing and vitality be over our patients, and may our clients forever feel confident in the care we will offer them as a family here at Golden Valley. There is no greater joy than that of improving the well-being of another, and we strive to exemplify this with the recognition that all is possible through you. I pray that every moment we strive for love to lead us forward, that we take pride in our work, and that we come together to celebrate each day, for it truly is a gift. In Jesus name, Amen! “
